RED BULL FMX CAMP: TRAINING THE NEXT WAVE OF X-FIGHTERS

Discipline, dedication and nerves of steel are essential qualities for an elite freestyle motocross rider, but how does a young FMX enthusiast bridge the gap that separates them from the professionals? The Red Bull FMX Camp, held west of Brisbane, went a long way in answering this question under the tutelage of Australia'€™s best performance coaches and riders like Red Bull X-Fighters winner, Josh Sheehan. Eight riders between the ages of 16 and 27 were hand-picked by an industry panel, identified for their potential and desire to make it to the top. The Camp, run in the USA for a number of years, has produced world champion riders, including Levi Sherwood, who's notched up multiple X-Fighters wins and currently stands as one of the sport'€™s form riders in 2012. The final stop of the 2012 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will again be played out on home soil at SydneyĆ¢€'s Cockatoo Island on Saturday October 6. Ticket packages start at $69.00 (plus booking fee) and are on sale now at ticketek.com.au.
